Regular pet wellness exams are essential for maintaining your pet’s health. Puppies and kittens, adult dogs and cats, and animals with chronic conditions all have different needs that warrant individualized approaches to healthcare. Dr. Drewell will base her recommendations on your pet’s specific needs.
During every wellness visit, Dr. Drewell performs a nose-to-tail inspection to look for any outward signs that something could be wrong. She might also suggest bloodwork, urine tests, heartworm/tick screenings, or fecal testing to check for parasites. These tests can help us identify problems early on when treatment is typically more effective and before your pet becomes seriously ill.
We will also make sure your pet receives appropriate vaccinations and other preventives, such as heartworm, flea, and tick control. Dr. Drewell may also make dietary suggestions or recommend that your pet receive dental care.
Annual checkups are adequate for most pets. However, senior animals and those living with chronic conditions may need more frequent visits.
